Don’t put all your Eggs in one Basket

When it comes to managing poultry, knowledge is king. Successful poultry breeders have more than one strategy for analysing and making decisions about the management requirements of their poultry. Indeed, we have come a long way from the days when the ancestors of the domestic chicken from the jungles of South-East Asia laid but one clutch of twelve eggs each year. Nowadays, domestic hens lay eggs for ten months of the year and egg production can be maintained year round with careful flock management. Knowing how to do this and when to sell hens for meat are the challenges of the poultry breeder. However, a thoroughly revised course on Poultry by ACS Distance Education will teach you all you need to know whether at an enthusiast or commercial level. This course discusses different breeds, health care, nutrition, diseases in poultry, housing and shelter, layers, broilers, incubation, brooding, record keeping, economics, and marketing.
